Ah, hyperbole, automobiles advertising is thy name!
Haynes began offering a "light six" in 1914 (the
year that this ad aired in Life Magazine),
an achievement that they proclaimed with all the qualifiers of a sports
announcer playing up their favorite team.
Haynes claimed to have developed the first gasoline driven American made
car - an honor that actually went to the Duryea brothers.
Haynes was an Indiana company, operating out of Kokomo until
1924 when it declared bankruptcy.
